Panel three of three.

While visiting the San Clemente area I spent a lot of time roaming the shores at low tide and fell in love with the movement and ever changing scene of the tide pools which inspired this triptych entitled Looking Past the Surface.  In creating this piece, I predominantly used a palette knife in very loose strokes to give a sense of the constant movement of sand and water.

In this final canvas, the perspective of the tide pool is magnified even further surprising the viewer with unusual animal and plant life lurking in the sandy crevices of the tide pools depths.
