Sometimes creating a watercolor of an image before painting an oil painting gives insight into how you would execute the final piece . Such is the case here; this watercolor is a study for an oil piece yet to be finished.
The colors of the water are easily produced with the watercolors and I liked the variation of hues created in this piece. Using oils indirectly instead of directly will hopefully achieve this same feeling in the final oil painting.

Two thumbnails are used to inform different data-
each serves to guide the distribution of values in the final piece.
