After visiting Venice and drinking in the smells, sites and sound, I had to paint a scene to remind me of the experience.  And what says Venice more then an image of a small boat on the canal.  Because I remember it with such ethereal sweetness,  I used a pastel palette for the architecture to preserve that memory.
