From the handful of pieces that I have painted from other visuals other than my own, this image was sourced from a section of a photograph in the magazine “Arizona Highways”  When you imagine a desert, you often visualize dusty, monochromatic color schemes.  I liked that this image turns that perception upside-down with stunning color.
