Black Bird Farm Series

Our niece and her husband bought a farm in MI recently and last year we took most of our family to the farm for a visit. I grew up in Iowa and my grandparents lived on a farm when I was growing up and I have great memories of loving the farm; these scenes brought back sweet memories

To create the cattails around the small “pond” I did some scraping with the palette knife to expose the white surface to highlight the sun catching the tips of the foliage.
