After attending a workshop by Ratindra Das, I tried my hand at some of his techniques.  Not as successful as I would like to have been, it did inform some of my work going forward.  Every piece may not be as successful as you would hope, but you can always have a positive takeaway for your work going forward.

I recreated the same image , painting more in my own style and I have to say, I really like the looseness of the first piece I created;  this version looks quite a bit stiffer for a water scene.
